Grilled Sea
Scallops
SERVES: 2-4
PREP TIME: 3 minutes
TOTAL TIME: 6 minutes
COURSE: Main
Plump sea scallops require just a little seasoning, quality olive oil and a good sear to bring out their fresh, sweet flavor. Less than 2 minutes per side on the grill and you have a delicious entrée that tastes like the sea!
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for brushing the gates
4 wooden skewers
Sea salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Instructions
Pat the scallops dry with paper towel, then put them in a large bowl and drizzle with the olive oil. Using your hands, gently toss with the oil until fully coated.
Next, thread the scallops onto skewers. Preheat your stovetop grill pan or outdoor grill over the highest heat. Brush or spray the grates with oil. Once it’s hot, grill the scallops for approximately 1 to 1 1/2 minutes per side. Remove from the grill and season to taste with salt and pepper.
Pro Tip: Soak your wooden skewers in warm water for approximately 30 minutes before adding your scallops.
