Chili & Cheddar Shepherd’s Pie

The secret to an easy (and delicious) shepherd’s pie? Our chef-crafted Turkey Chili and buttery Potato Purée—two Citarella favorites, ready to transform into a cozy classic. Sharp white cheddar enhances the savory flavor in the potatoes, while Parmesan on top makes the perfect finishing touch. Simply layer, sprinkle, and bake. In under an hour, you’ll have a mouthwatering dinner.
Ingredients
- 2 packages Citarella Potato Purée
- 1 cup finely shredded sharp white cheddar cheese
- 3 egg yolks
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 qt. Citarella Turkey Chili
- 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375ºF.
- Prepare the potato topping: In a large mixing bowl, place the potato purée, the cheddar, and the egg yolks. Stir until evenly mixed. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Place the Citarella chili into a 2.5-3-quart casserole dish. Spread evenly and then top with the prepared potato mixture. Sprinkle the Parmesan on top of the casserole and bake in the oven until golden-brown and hot throughout, about 25-30 minutes. Let rest for 10 minutes; then, serve.
