Customers who came for the LIVE LOBSTER SPECIAL this past weekend were blown away by the cooking demonstrations by our three Italian Executive Chefs. Customers were left speechless as they sampled the food -- needing a moment while they were transported to Italy with the wonderful flavor and high-quality ingredients. 

Our Executive Chef Fedele Bruno prepared freshly made light and fluffy Gnocchi and fresh Mushroom Pasta sauce laden with 4 different mushrooms - Portobello, Porcini, Shitake, and White Button.  The incredible tomato, mushroom, and onion smells invited customers to his cooking area. Responsible for over 120 different delicious Prepared Foods and fantastic sauces, soups, and salad, Fedele was thanked throughout the day by customers for helping not just feed them but nourish them over the years.

Creating over 35 fresh pastas daily, our Artisan Pasta Maker Enrico Badenchini enjoyed a similar reception because of his focus on using only the highest quality ingredients like imported Durum flour. Enrico showcased his earthy Porcini Ravioli with Butter and fragrant Sage sauce and Spinach and Cheese Ravioli with freshly made Marinara sauce. 

In a very interactive demo, our Executive Pasty Chef Carolina Perego - artisan extraordinaire - masterfully assembled on site her 4-layer Mocha Cake with delicate Coffee Mousse made with Citarella Coffee.

Customers watched in awe at the attention to detail, and they even had the chance to help decorate the cakes as well.  Carolina also sampled her classic Vanilla Meringue Cake that has 4 layers of moist, fluffy cake layered ever so delicately with Chantilly Cream and covered with a festive Italian Meringue. 

 As one customer commented, "Everything was just perfect."

Twenty Five years ago, Citarella purchased a wholesale fish company – Lockwood & Winant, to eliminate the middleman to offer the freshest fish available at the fairest price. 

In 2007, we opened
Meat without Feet
which caters to leading restaurants.  Between the two wholesale fish businesses, we are one of the biggest players at the Fulton Fish Market in Hunts Point.

In 2005, we opened in East Hampton Tutto Italiano, a traditional Italian salumeria offering authentically chef-prepared food. We also have an experienced Pizzaiolo – Pasquale Langella --making expert thin-crust pizza and fresh hot mozzarella.
