PRODUCTION/COMMISSARY COOK (Hunts Point, BX)

• Under the Chef supervision, performs work of moderate-difficulty in regards to the preparation of foods on a large scale commercial-type basis.

• Work is performed according to specific policies and procedures

• Operates with the kitchen equipment as assigned.

• Weighs and measures ingredients, properly using recipes in order to produce a standard product.

• Maintain clean and organized work station, and surrounding areas.

• Follow all guidelines and procedures as outlined in the health and safety policy manual.

• Vast knowledge of food preparation and cooking methods on a large-scale basis.

• Posses the understanding of the materials and equipment used in large scale cooking operations.

• Ability to follow oral instructions, working independently while performing major repairs and overhauls.

• Have great sense of organization and work well under high volume/pressure situations.

• Flexible time a plus and be able to adapt to new situations immediately.

Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak English with proficiency. Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.  We are seeking candidates that have high volume food prep production experience in a production/ warehouse environment preferably for high end gourmet stores. The position is located in the South Bronx. This is a full-time hourly position in a 24 hour operation therefore full-time associates must be available to work any and all shifts. Weekends, overnights (10pm-7am), and holidays are required.
