Meat Counter Person

As one of New York City's most celebrated fine food stores, Citarella offers carefully selected gourmet products, from our full line of products that New Yorkers have consistently enjoyed.

Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service - Serve and assist customers at the counter explaining the products flavor, taste and how they are prepared from personal knowledge and training.

  • Maintain and stock product in display, understanding product dating and inventory control.

  • Take, dispatch and deliver orders.

  • Maintain clean and organized work station, back room, storage and surrounding areas.

  • Follow all guidelines and procedures as outlined in the health and safety policy manual and as set by the Meat Department Manager and Store Manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Customer service expertise

  • General knowledge of meat products and prime cuts

  • Basic meat cooking techniques (cooking time, temperatures- internal/external) 

  • Understanding the use of cutting equipment, grinders, etc.

This person has open communication with all our customers and is willing to continue to learn and grow as a person within the Company.
