CHEESE CUTTER ASSOCIATE (Hunts Point - BX)

Cuts cheese into pieces of specified shape and size, examines cheese for defects in color, textures and body. Trim rind, mold, or sediment from cheese using knife.

Minimum Requirements:

• Ability to handle knifes

• Able to work with others in a team environment

• Desire to learn about cheese

• Communication skills 

Tasks/Responsibilities:

• Cut, wrap, label and pack cheese

• Pick cheese from orders for stores

• Confirm expiration and rotate cheese

• Pack cheese in milk crates to be placed on pallets for delivery

• Grate cheese

• In addition, other duties maybe required as directed by your manager. 

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to perform physical requirements of position including standing for extended periods of time and extreme cold conditions

• Lifting loads of up to 80 lbs on your own and 200 lbs with assistance

• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays

• Ability to read and write the English language, conduct business

Must be able to work in a cold environment, and stand for extended periods of time and lift 50lbs regularly with or without assistance. Must be able to maintain the cleanliness of their department. The position is located in the South Bronx. This is a full-time hourly position; full-time Associates must be available to work all and any shifts between the hours of 5am-11pm, Sunday through Saturday. Weekends and holidays are required.
